Mission Statement

YFL Mission Statement:

Our mission is to educate youth to better understand and appreciate our founding documents, our form of government, and how they can be a change for the better in our nation.

Our Mission:
Our Beliefs:

We believe that “We the People” do not know enough about the founding of our republic or the way our great central government is designed to function.  We believe that this knowledge is vital to the proper functioning of our government and to the keeping of our republic. We believe that in order to keep the liberty which our God and founding fathers have given us we need to be an educated and moral people. The youth of our nation are key to this belief. If the next generation can become educated and passionate about the founding of our nation and keeping our government within its proper limits then our country can continue to be the freest in the world.

Our Purpose:
In order to accomplish this mission we have set up a camp where youth (12-17 years old) may come and become educated about these principles. We know that passion for these ideas will grow as youth engage in classes and confidence building activities while socializing with like minded youth and adults who are also passionate and educated about our government and history.

Our Goals:
Our purpose will be accomplished by:

Teaching the youth topics such as:

o   The principles behind and effect of:  The Declaration of Independence, the US Constitution and the Bill of Rights.
o   The differences between available forms of government and the advantages of having our republic.
o   The way capitalism works.
o   How to be a leader for liberty.

Preparing activities such as:

o   Simulations teaching the youth how governments could go wrong.
o   Obstacle courses to promote confidence and self-esteem through doing hard things.
o   Games and memorization activities to help the youth remember the principles of our founding documents.
